TL;DR
Old board tripping, or no RCD protection? We upgrade to a modern consumer unit and certify it, usually the same day. From €450.
Your fuse board is the safety heart of the house. Older boards often lack the RCD protection that trips in a fraction of a second to prevent a shock or fire.
We swap the old board for a modern consumer unit with proper RCBO protection on each circuit, test the installation, and issue a certificate. All work is Safe Electric registered.

Questions, answered
- How much is a fuse board upgrade?
- A straightforward consumer unit upgrade starts around €450. If earthing or bonding needs work, we include that in the fixed quote before starting.
- Why does my board keep tripping?
- Frequent tripping usually points to a faulty appliance, a circuit fault, or an old board that cannot isolate problems properly. We find the cause rather than just resetting it.
- Do I need RCD protection?
- Modern standards require it, and it is one of the cheapest safety upgrades you can make. If your board has no RCDs, an upgrade is well worth it.
- How long does it take?
- Most upgrades are done in a few hours, with the power off only for short, planned periods.
